Pretzel tracks depletion rate per item - not just count. A box of trach ties with 30 units and a daily use rate of 2 hits reorder at the same time as a box of 60 with a daily rate of 4. The math is boring; the consequence of getting it wrong is not.

Reorder alerts fire on three signals:

• Stock below threshold
• Days-of-supply below lead time
• Vendor-specific shipping delays
