Why we built Pretzel

The paper binder problem for caregivers of medically complex patients - and what we did about it.

Families caring for medically complex patients live out of three-ring binders. Schedules, medication times, feed amounts, equipment supply counts, emergency action plans, shift handoff notes - all on paper, all duplicated across caregivers, all going stale the moment something changes.

We built Pretzel because the existing options either treat caregivers like clinicians (EHR-grade complexity for someone managing one patient at home) or like consumers (a medication reminder app for someone who is also tracking 14 supply categories and 6 specialists).

What Pretzel is

A single app that holds:

  • the daily schedule
  • every care item (meds, equipment, therapies, feeds, vitals, routines)
  • inventory with reorder thresholds
  • structured health logs
  • emergency action plans
  • shift handoff notes

What’s next

We’re piloting with a small group of families through early access. If you want in, join the waitlist on the home page.
